little, tiny, mini CA/TA suggestion
you enter a battle in CA all pumped up with your new boon healer, and you see a lvl 20 w/mo with mending and breeze, a lvl 18 e/mo and a lvl 13 me/e with pre-sear armor.
no boon build in the world can heal these people, not even your insane 1337ness...
as much as i get the fact that CA is a good place to learn about pvp, you have ascalon arena and yak's arena... please allow only lvl 20 characters into CA and TA, this has gone on for too long...
thx

Not letting lower level's in the CA's would be not letting, let's say, necromancers in, just because they annoy you. Part of the fun of the CA's is trying to work with whatever kind of team you get. And it is possible that a lower level may have a better build than a lvl 20 on your team.
For TA's I dont think you need to worry. Just make sure your team doesn't invite any lower levels.

for deathlyjunk... you can raise the level cap for yak's to be 10-20. if you dont like that idea... getting from lvl 16 to lvl 20 isn't that much hard work.
for bane... i love necros
but seriously, if a lvl 16 player knows about making a good build, what is stoppimg him from taking 2 minutes to create an identical pvp character that has more hp and better armor... it only makes sense...
i was sure this would get lot's of /signed... guess i was wrong...

Good point. Only thing I could see different is weapon mods and runes. Just because you have them on a PvE char, doesn't mean you have them unlocked for PvP.

you take your perfect chaos 15^50 axe that you use for your lvl 19 character ( ), and put it in storage.
make pvp character, get axe from storage and kick ass with your new axe, and the attribute point and armor bonus that fit it.

I would have to side with Mortalis..enough is enough. I have seen as low as a lvl 5 in CA...there is no learning done in this case. The only learning I see at that point is the rest of the team leaving. In fact went up against a team that had a lvl 17 and 18 a few days ago....the other 2 on that team left when they saw lvl. Why not add another arena for level 16-19? Yak's is sooo incredibly early in the game. Surely they can add an arena at let's say...Druids Overlook or maybe Quarrel Falls or even Ventari's Refuge. Those areas should easily be able to accommodate level 16-19 pve'rs that want to continue on Pve'ing and also hone their PvP skills. Not too mention at those areas new skills can be unlocked, new armor can be bought or "collected". I think this would be a great idea and would certainly help the CA atmosphere a bit.

I really don't think this is necessary. You have a level 16 on your team? Play, lose, gg, try again. Completely painless.
And it's not like the arenas are flooded with players less than lvl20. I see one every maybe 10 teams or so.

I do play when this happens. I hate leaving...pet peave. As much as I don't enjoy lower levels coming into CA, nothing bothers me more than people that just leave. What you don't like who's on your team?!? Anyway, sorry off the topic. Back tothe topic.
I still believe the game can have an arena in the areas I stated. Why, not have a map out there? Personally I think this would be a great place to keep developing PvP skills while you're still moving through the story line.

Even though I dont really care either way, a 16-19 arena would be nice. THey should also add the maps for the ascalon and yaks ben arenas to the CA's. This would add more variety.

I think that a 16-19 arena should be put in at the Henge of Danravi. It's a major city with no arena (that I know of o.O;;

It'd make more sense to put the Level 20 arena at HoD and have the 16-10 one at LA though wouldn't it? Unless I've played this game very, very wrong...

It doesn't matter where you put it unless its at Dragon's Lair. People will run anywhere anyways.

I've had a level 1 on my CA team. Also in CA, a team I was on had a good streak going (around 8) and then one player left. Our replacement was a level 13 ele. Obviously he died very quickly. We died that round but would have won if we had about anyone else at level 20. There should be another arena for the 16-19 players to go and make CA level 20 only.

But if it's a level 20 minimum to enter, that doesn't matter.
I think the Lion's Arch arena should be made 16-19, and the comp. arena should be put in Amnoon and allow only level 20s. And it should include all of the lower-level arena maps in its rotation...

seriously... if you think about it carefully, you could even say that bringing a level 13 character to CA is griefing. i do not see what is stopping these people from making a pvp character and coming back...
if you have a costumized weapon, don't you think it is smarter to have a bit of a weaker weapon (really a bit, since pvp weapons are basically collector's), and instead get better hp and armor?
also... if you have 4 pve characters and you are "stuck", you can use your other three in pvp, since they are probably level 20. if you just NEED to try it out with your new character, then i'm sure you have enough experience in the game to get from level 16 to level 20. if you were serious about pvp, then you would have a spot for your pvp character, but that is another story entirely.

I like the "random" arena. It's fast in getting matches started, the faction rewards are quite good and the random nature adjusts everyone towards the mean. Although it is very possible to design builds to take advantage of "random" arena trends.
All the problems you cited with "random" arena are easily solved. Play in the "team" arena. Start your own team and you can insure that you always have lvl20 teammates. Heck, you can even insure that your team mates are exactly what you want.
